God's Plan For You

God planned that the earth would be filled with His glory through His creation from the beginning of time. That means you and I have a destiny; He wants to conform us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:5, Romans 8:29–30) in coming into a living relationship with Him.

Satan also has a plan for us. He wants to destroy our lives. John 10:10 tells us that the thief (satan) has come to steal, kill, and destroy, but He (Jesus) has come to give us eternal life.

Christ the Lamb died for us because He loves us (Romans 5:8). All men are sinful and have missed out on God's holiness. Romans 3:23 tells us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Because our sin has separated us from God, He must judge sinful man.

When you acknowledge your need for Jesus, and through repentance, He will forgive your sins. It is the first step toward salvation; He comes into your heart and saves you from the penalty of sin. Then, as you journey on in Him, He continually keeps you from the power of sin. And one day will save you from the presence of sin.

When you (we) die, you will spend eternity with God (Heaven) instead of with satan (hell). Heaven is the presence and glory of the Lord, while hell is everlasting pain and destruction and separation from the Lord.

Learning to know Jesus is a fantastic journey into God's plan for you. When you give Him all the sinful things of your life, He deposits in you all the good things He has for you. He gives you His power to become His child (John 1:12).

God desires that you spend eternity with Him Matthew 18:14; 2 Peter 3:9). Jesus is calling you today. Allow Him to guide you in life's journey by praying this sinner's prayer aloud.

  • "Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I need You to come into my life and save me from sin. I believe You died for me. I gave You my heart. Help me to learn how to live for You. Thank You for hearing me and saving me, in Jesus' Name Amen."
  • Romans 10:9 tells us that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our hearts that God raised His Son Jesus from the dead, He will save us.
  • Talk to God through prayer.
  • Read the Bible. It is God's instruction on living a life that will please Him.
  • Set aside time each day to focus on God through worship, praise, and thanksgiving.
  • Find a good church that teaches the Bible.
  • Let the pastor or one of the elders know about your new faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Let others know you have accepted Jesus into your life.
  • You will learn how to apply God's instruction to your daily life.

The church is not a building; it is the people. You are the church. It is essential that you fellowship with other believers of the same faith.

Learning about Jesus helps you know Him daily to succeed in this life because you choose to trust His payment for your sin.
